Psychotherapy Fees and Reimbursement
My fee for a 50-minute session is $110. If this fee is not affordable for you at the moment, I have a limited number of openings for sliding-scale clients -- please call or email to inquire about availability and your sliding-scale fee. The sliding-scale fee is based on household income and ability to pay. We'll estabish your fee before the first session begins.
I ask for payment (by check or cash) at each session.
Health insurance plans often have a mental health benefit program that covers psychotherapy. Although I'm not an "in-network provider" for any insurance plan, I do work with insurance companies to assist my clients with reimbursement. I provide statements of your visits and fees paid, and file claims with your insurance company if you wish. I also call, write, or fax insurance companies at times to advocate for my clients. Some insurance companies do reimburse my clients, at least in part, for seeing me (an "out-of-network provider") in psychotherapy.
At times, my clients have financial pressures that make it difficult or impossible to continue with therapy. During those times, I'm happy to discuss a temporary reduction in the fee so that the course of therapy can continue.
